    New Terms                            

1. Monsoon- This is the season when plants grow well as they get plenty of water from rain.

2. Autumn- This season is cooler than summer, trees shed their leaves in this season, so it is also called as 'fall'.

3.  Spring - It is cool and pleasant season.  Many birds build new nests in this season.

Q 4. Answer the following questions:-

Q a. What is rotation?

Ans. The spinning of the Earth on its axis is known as rotation.

Q b. Explain how a leap year has 366 days.

Ans. The Earth takes 365 and 1/4 days to revolve around the sun. This period of time is called a year. Every fourth year we have an extra day which is added in the month of February. As a result, every fourth year, February has 29 days.  This year becomes a leap year and has 366 days.

Q c.  What causes day and night?

Ans. The rotation of the Earth on its axis causes day and night
