Ans. Animals move from one place to another in search of food and shelter. They also move to protect themselves from their enemies.

b) How does this animal reproduce?
Ans.  By giving birth to young ones.


7. Read the paragraph and answer the questions
 that follow:

Plants do not move from one place to another, but some parts of plant show movement. The roots of a plant grow and move into the soil in search of water. The stems of plant move towards the light. A sunflower turns in the direction of the sun.

a) In which direction do the roots of a plant grow? Why?
Ans. The roots of a plant grow and move into the soil in search of water.


b) Which part of the plant moves towards the light?
Ans. The stems of plant move towards the light.


8. Join the dots from 1 to 44 to obtain the picture of an animal, colour it and complete the given statement.


Ans. The animal reproduces by giving birth to young ones. 

9. Higher Order Thinking Skills (HOTS)
A car movement from one place to another. It needs fuel to move. Can we say that
it is a living thing? Justify your answer.
Ans. A car does not move on its own. It needs fuel to run and machines to move. Hence it cannot be called a living thing.

 STEP1. TAKE ANY SMALL CONTAINER ( AN UNUSED CUP, GLASS, BOX, POT ... ETC.)
STEP2 .PUT SOIL IN THE CONTAINER AND FILL IT HALF .
STEP3.THEN PUT SEEDS ON THE SOIL( LIKE - MUSTARD, MOONG , BEANS, FENUGREEK SEEDS ETC.)

 STEP4.COVER THE SEEDS WITH A THIN LAYER OF SOIL AND WATER IT .

  STEP5.KEEP THE POT NEAR THE WINDOW  OR IN A PLACE WHERE IT CAN GET SUNLIGHT AND WATER THE POT DAILY . 

STEP6. IN FEW DAYS YOU CAN SEE THE SEEDS WILL GERMINATE AND SMALL PLANTS WILL APPEAR ABOVE THE SOIL.
