Q 1. How birds can fly?
Ans. Birds can fly because
1. Birds have hollow bones. Which help them to fly.
2. A bird has a boat shaped body which helps them to cut through the air while flying.
3. Birds fly with the help of wings and strong muscles.

Q 2. How many types of feathers do birds have?Explain each one of them.
Ans. Birds have three types of feathers.
1. Flight feathers - flight feathers help birds to fly. They are found on the wings and the tail.

2. Body feathers - Body feathers are coloured feathers, which cover the body of the bird and give it a shape.

3. Down feathers - Down feathers are soft and fluffy feathers found close to the body of a bird, these feathers help birds to keep their body warm.

Q 3. How do birds hear?
Ans. Birds have ear openings which are hidden beneath feathers on the side of the head, just behind and slightly below the eyes.
