    GLOBE 

     A globe is a mini replica or model of the earth.  It gives us an idea of how the planet earth looks like.  It shows the mountains, oceans, countries and continents are placed on the surface of the earth.

DIFFERENCE BETWEEN A MAP AND A GLOBE 

    MAP


● A map is a two-dimensional drawing of the Earth.
●A map is easy to carry.
● A map can show many things such as roads, railways, bridges, etc.

    GLOBE

● A globe is a three-dimensional model of the Earth.
● A globe is difficult to carry everywhere.
●A globe does not show minute details such as roads, railways, etc.
  
   
     DIRECTIONS :- Directions help us locate unknown places on the map. We know the four main directions -- North, South, East and West. They are known as the cardinal directions or cardinal points. 

    
 
 FOUR MAIN DIRECTIONS

    (NORTHSOUTHEAST , WEST)

    Also known as cardinal directions or cardinal points.

    
INTERMEDIATE DIRECTIONS 

    The directions between the cardinal directions are known as intermediate directions. The intermediate directions are-NW (North-West), NE- (North-East), SW- (South- West), SE- (South-East).

    MAGNETIC COMPASS

     It is a instrument with tiny magnetic needles that always points towards the North.
