IMPORTANT POINTS TO REVISE
1. Soil is a natural resource.
2. Soil is made up of weathered rock, living matter , decaying plants and animals.
3. Soil is formed by the weathering of rocks.
4. Weathering is breaking down of rocks into smaller pieces.
5. There are four layers of the soil-
(i) Topsoil
(ii) Subsoil
(iii)Weathered rock fragments
(iv) Bedrocks
6. Topsoil is the uppermost and the most fertile layer of the soil.
7. Subsoil contains particles such as sand and silt.
8. The bedrock has unbroken solid rocks.
